Fact #9 Is False!
I unintentionally lied. Four years ago I was kissed on New Years. It was by a good friend whom I had feelings for but she, unfortunately, did not have the same feelings for me. Still, it didn’t stop her from suggesting we kiss at midnight. I, of course, agreed and, after a practice run, it happened at midnight as it should. Later that month she told me she wanted to stay just friends and...

Things You Don't Need To Know About Me: #9

Wrap It Up
My family heads home in the morning. It’s been a good visit, even though my work scheduled me six days this week cutting short the amount of time I got to spend with them. Still, we got to have a Christmas together and that was the entire point. Next up is New Years. Some friends from work and I are just going to spend it at one of the guys’ house because none of us want to be part of...

Derek's Christmas Tale: Vol. 1
Hello, my name is Christopher. Christopher Kringle. I do realize I have the same name as Santa Clause, but I can assure you I am not he, although, I do feel on occasion my life would be better spent living as such. I am no one special. Just a young man living in his parent’s attic with his cat Winston and goldfish Turbonite. But this story isn’t about me, per say. It’s about my...

My mom and sister come into town today.
I’m excited to see them and to spend Christmas with them. I wish my other sister could be here too, but I think we will be Skyping her tomorrow, so that will have to do. I even bought gifts for them! I haven’t participated in the gift giving thing in years, but the reasons for that will have to wait for another post. Also, I hate the fact that there isn’t an official Tumblr app...

My Grown Up Christmas List
With Christmas being right around the corner, I have decided it’s time to put together my Christmas Wish List for this holiday season. If you are reading this, feel free to send me anything on it.  167 jars of salsa that don’t taste like jarred salsa World Peace…to stop taking so many crappy three-point shots and just play some D like the Lakers signed him for. Maybe if you...

The Bad Samaritan
Tonight after work I went to the grocery store. More than anything I just needed to take back a Redbox movie, but I figured I’d do some light shopping while there. Going through the produce section, I pass a man pulling (yes, pulling) a cart that contained nothing but a package of cheddar cheese.  “Hey, can you get that for me?” He said as I passed. I looked to see to what he...

Yesterday I went snowboarding for the first time.
And today I am SOOO sore. A friend from work and I went to work at noon, got sent home by 12:03 and were up at Mt. Charleston hitting the slopes by 2pm. We only got a few hours in, but it was all I needed for a first try. I’ve skied before, but never snowboarded.  This is the only picture I took because I was too busy bruising my ass and knees to think to whip out my phone. This was on the...

It's Beginning To Look A Bit More Like Christmas
I spent this past weekend (my weekend is Monday and Tuesday) in California. I decided to make the trip to visit my dad and his family since I won’t be able to make it out there for any of the holidays. The 3.5-4 hour drive is a boring one through mostly desert that is both barren to populations and radio stations. Usually I hate driving, but ever since travelling across the country before...

That's Life
Tonight I watched the documentary Life In A Day. On July 24th, 2010, over 4,500 hours of footage was shot and submitted by thousands of people around the world to take part in this documentary about their lives. It showcases the diversity in human lives around the world; their cultures, their routines, their joys, and their pains are all put on display to show just how much takes place in a...
